You lie, BOY!
Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 11:38AM Maureen Dowd hears unspoken words.
But, fair or not, what I heard was an unspoken word in the air: You lie, BOY*!
I wonder if the same thing happens when men talk to her, like "Would you like coffee, bitch?" Yeah, it probably does.
*For those that don't know, "boy" was a fairly light racial insult. White folk in the Old Days usually refereed to Black men of any age as "boy". White teens called Black men their grandfather's age "boy". It was not usually intended to be degrading, but you can see how it would be. No man likes to be called "boy". Sometime around 1964 Black men older than 11 stopped putting up with it. When I was in school in the 70's calling even the nicest Black guy "boy" would get you a fat lip.
